A bit about me…
Navigating through life can be a whirlwind in the best of times. It’s even more difficult when you find yourself in the midst of a storm. There comes a point when you realise that you can’t do it on your own and you need someone to walk alongside you.
I spent a lot of my youth trying to navigate a storm of my own. At the age of 20, my world was changed as I was diagnosed with anxiety and depression. I’ve also watched a family member struggle with addiction and other mental health issues for over 10 years.
So, I know what it’s like to experience these things first hand. And I know how hard it can be to watch a loved one suffer. I bring this depth of understanding and empathy into my counselling sessions in a way that will inspire, encourage and instil hope. My personal and lived experience is what inspired me to become a counsellor, and help others navigate the storms they face.
I’ve worked with an addictions service for the Waitemata District Health Board since 2010, both as a counsellor and as a clinical supervisor. And I continue to work with them as the Family Advisor, while running my own private practice which has been going for the past four years.
While each session is unique and catered towards the needs of my clients, I bring this experience and understanding into them, with a sense of warmth and comfort. I’ll walk with you at a pace you set, helping you navigate the challenges you’re facing and thrive in the life you live.
